Women's Weightlifting

Ilana's women's weightlifting class, located in Santa Cruz at the Westside Toadal Fitness, was established to create a safe space for women to grow and learn together. The class is designed to have options for all ages and skill levels, and to have a focus on proper technique. Additionally, Ilana is certified as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach for those who need exercise modifications in these seasons of their lives.

Women's Weightlifting Class

$75 per month gets you three classes per week of women's weightlifting classes and a virtual program with exercise demonstrations

This class is currently taught at 1PM on Mondays (child care available), 6:45PM on Wednesdays, 3:30PM on Thursdays (child care available), and 2PM on Sundays. This class is designed to help women of all different levels. You can be a complete beginner, or an experienced weightlifter in this class. The idea behind this class is for women to help each other grow stronger and learn form.

 

Each class we will have a specific focus: upper-body or lower-body. For each exercise, proper instruction is given, then students perform the exercise for 3-4 sets with guidance from Ilana. She tries to get around to anyone who needs help fixing their form on each exercise. There is 6 months worth of unique workouts that are rotated on a weekly basis, then the workouts are cycled through again. Many of the workouts utilize similar exercises, but use different implements (barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, and resistance bands), and in different orders. There are also portions of the class where students work on a warm-up, a core exercise, and stretching. During other days of the week, you will have access to an online program with demo videos to help you keep on track!

 

When you sign up for the class you will pay for the first month and set up your credit card to be automatically billed each month. If you would like to continue with the online program, even after you can no longer attend class, this can be arranged. Students can also go on hold for 1-2 months at a time. Every class participant will receive a free shirt, and sticker when they first sign up for the class!
